WBC Statement of Faith
1. The Word Of God:
We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, fully inspired by the Holy Spirit. We believe that the Bible in its original manuscripts is free from all falsehood or mistake and so is entirely true and trustworthy in all matters and that it has supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
2. The Trinity:
We believe that there is one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons; the Father, Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit. They are equal in every divine perfection, and that they execute distinct but harmonious roles in the work of creation, providence and redemption.
3. Jesus Christ:
We believe in Jesus Christ, God's only begotten son, conceived by the Holy Spirit. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles and teachings. We believe in His substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into Heaven, perpetual intercession for His people, and personal visible return to earth.
4. Satan:
We believe that Satan and his demons are created beings and are adversaries of God.
5. State of humankind/Salvation:
We believe that humankind was created in the image of God; that humankind sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death but also spiritual separation from God; and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature. Everyone who reaches the stage of understanding moral responsibility and becomes culpable sinners, are in need of a Savior to bring them into a personal relationship with God. This is possible only through repenting from our sinful ways and accepting that Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and that He paid the penalty of our sins by dying for us and rising from the grave conquering sin and death to live eternally. As such, all believers should attempt to live according to His guidelines as recorded in the Holy Bible and through the leading of the Holy Spirit.
6. Eternal life:
We believe in the bodily resurrection of all people. Those that have accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior, or have not yet reached the stage of accountability, will enter into eternal life of joy and blessedness with God and other fellow believers, and the eternal punishment for those that have not done so.
