Change your World! As Christians we are called to go into all the world to share the good news of Jesus Christ and that is exactly the opportunity you will have at Cross Current. Students have the opportunity to serve on two major mission trips throughout the year as well as several local service projects.
From soup kitchens in Winnipeg to local youth groups, we are committed to having an impact where we live and not just in exotic locations. Despite being located in Manitoba's "Bible Belt", there are endless opportunities to serve God close to home. Sometimes God calls us to a tropical location and sometimes He calls us to the local thrift shop. . . but wherever He calls, we serve.
WBC Cross Current students also have the opportunity to serve and learn a little farther away from home. In the past we've visited Belize, Cambodia, India, Ireland, Mexico, and the United States, as well as the far reaches of Canada. We've built houses, sung in the streets, and babysat children. We've shared what we've been learning, and learned much from the people in these countries. We've been challenged, we've been humbled, and we've been changed.
While circling the globe is not cheap, we want to make it an affordable experience for every student. The cost of the mission trips is partially covered by tuition and the rest comes from a combination group and individual fund-raising. These expenses are tax-deductible, meaning that students can pay for the cost of the trip or they can allow Cross Current to assist in the fund-raising process. Through letter-writing and church presentations nearly every student is able to raise the entire cost of the trip. Don't let the cost scare you - many people know the value and will contribute generously to the work of overseas mission. God is good!
The Overseas Mission Trip is not included in the tuition, however it is a tax-deductible expense, meaning that students can pay for the cost of the trip (approximately $2500) or they can allow Cross Current to assist in the fund-raising process. Through letter-writing and church presentations nearly every student is able to raise the entire cost of the trip. Don't let the cost scare you - many people know the value and will contribute generously to the work of overseas mission. God is good!
