At Cross Current everything you learn in the classroom is made applicable to everyday life. You’ll learn to study your bible and actually enjoy it! You’ll learn about the world we live in and what we can do to bring God into every situation.
While academics are important, Cross Current courses are intentionally designed to be less academic than a typical Bible College course load. Learning simply takes a different form. Instead of lengthy papers (although there are some) assignments are intended to be more hands on and practical. We find that many students are looking for ways to study and learn in ways that affect everyday life.
Here's a small sample of some of the courses offered at Cross Current.
Almost all of our courses are taught in one-week formats giving students an opportunity to dig deep into the subject and learn at a more manageable pace. Courses are taught Tuesday to Friday mornings and Monday afternoon for a total of 13 hours of class per week.
Our instructors come from a variety of backgrounds and experiences, each bringing a unique perspective to the classroom. Instructors come from across Canada and the United States as well as from our own camp staff. Students are blessed with an opportunity to learn from godly men and women each possessing a love for God and a heart for ministry.
Our Old & New Testament courses are transferable to any Christian institution in Canada and some Christian colleges will offer considerable credit for Cross Current studies. Steinbach Bible College offers up to 22 credit hours (over 2/3 of a year) for study and missions at Cross Current. We highly recommend Steinbach Bible College as a place for students to further their studies and to continue growing with God.
Each of our instructors teaches in accordance Winkler Bible Camp's Statement of Faith available here. We are a non-denominational camp and school with an Anabaptist influence.
